Now that we have lost our 'What's On' columnin The Buteman- It is very difficult to find our just what the answer to the question

I know the reason The Buteman has removed the column and understand that newspapers have to make money.  The Problem is, folk want to know, at a click, what is planned long before the event so that dates can be spread over the year.  Voluntary groups cannot afford advertising and notices appear in lots of places- in fact al over the place, but it takes time to find them.

Could Bute S1 have a simple, regularly updated, column giving us this news? 

It would be vandal proof unlike council noticeboads.

Absolutely. Our What's On section is free to use for any local groups and will remain that way.

As a community site we need the community to supply the listings. It's very easy, though. Just click the Add Your Event link on the What's On page or go straight to www.scotlistings.com, which is the in-house listings service used by s1 and Herald & Times.

Very local events will appear on s1bute and most will also appear on our sister site s1play.com. Larger events have a chance of appearing in the Evening Times, too.
