Enjoy a taste of the island at eatBute festival
8 SeptemberGet ready to get eating at this year's eatBute festival - a chance to enjoy lots of locally-sourced food - with something to suit every taste.
This year's event runs from Friday 10th to Sunday 12th September, starting with a 'Meet the Buyer' event showcasing local suppliers, and a launch dinner on the Friday.
Saturday sees a series of interactive lectures, cookery demonstrations, and of course the start of the two-day food and craft market starting at 11am at the Mount Stuart visitor centre, with local farmers, producers and suppliers being joined by food and craft producers.
And on Sunday there's a full programme of children's and family activities, with face painting, children's games and a Walking Theatre Adventure round Mount Stuart Gardens amongst the planned events.
eatBute is a food initiative that was instigated by the Mount Stuart Trust in 2008. The project aims to promote the abundance of good, fresh, local produce available on the Isle of Bute and in the wider Argyll region.
eatBute is promoted throughout the year and a programme of Bute Food and Craft Markets are held at Mount Stuart every few months. The eatBute initiative is celebrated annually at the 'eatBute' event.
You can find out more about this year's events, and more about local food producers on Bute here on the eatBute website.
