Bute schools to close amidst severe storm warnings
Bute schools will either close early or be closed completely today (Thursday, December 8) due to the impact of severe weather.
The decision has been made by Argyll and Bute Council following Scottish Government advice.
Travel, such as the ferry service is also disrupted.
The Met Office has issued a red alert warning of wind, with severe storm-force winds and heavy rain expected to batter the area.
There is even the possibility of snow tomorrow, with a yellow alert warning.
Schools in Argyll and Bute currently closed are:

- Tiree High School
- Dunoon Grammar
- Hermitage Academy
- Campbeltown Grammar
- Rothesay Academy
- Helensburgh Academy
Primaries
- Kilcreggan Primary
- Kirn Primary
- St Mun's Primary
- Dunoon Primary
- John Logie Baird Primary
- Cardross Primary
- Arrochar Primary
- Luing Primary
- Tiree Primary
- Bunessan Primary
- Toward Primary
- Strone Primary
- Kilmodan Primary
- Minard Primary
- John Logie Baird Primary
All other schools in Argyll and Bute will close at lunchtime today subject to the availability of transport to take pupils home and there being someone there to look after them.
