Ardencraig Gardens to look blooming beautiful for judges' visit
5 AugustBute's beautiful Ardencraig Gardens, one of the island's top tourist attractions, will come under the microscope when judges from the Beautiful Scotland panel visit on Friday, 13th August.
The judges will be visiting at the right time, because this is the time of year when the gardens, located on the slopes of Canada Hill, just off Eastlands Road, look their most spectacular.
Ardencraig gardens, which produce between 50,000 and 60,000 plants a year, were originally part of a larger layout designed by Percy Cane for the owners of nearby Ardencraig House.
The gardens are open from 8am-4pm Monday-Thursday, 8am-3.30pm on Friday and from 1-4.30pm at weekends; Ardencraig Tearoom is open daily from 10am-5pm.
