Royal British Legion Scotland Isle of Bute Branch
Welcome to the Isle of Bute branch R.B.L.S.
Yes, we now have an active R.B.L.S Branch on the Isle of Bute. We meet once a month, if you are ex-services or merchant navy, coastguard, womens land army, womens timber corps, Bevin boys or an A.C.F instructor you can join as a full member if not you can still join as an associate member. The fees are £6.50 for full members and £7.00 for associate members.
We are now the patrons of the Army Cadet Detachment on the island and look forward to forging closer links with other groups on the island.
The branch have now twinned with Stamford branch in Lincolnshire in England, this will hopefully forge links with the English Royal British Legion.
The visit of Stamford branch went very well and everyone enjoyed themselves, unfortunately Bute branch lost the twinning trophy, maybe we will win it back next year when we visit Stamford.
The next meeting of the branch is on the 3rd May at the Black bull starting at 8pm followed by a quiz.
We are organising an Armed forces day gala on the 26th June, if any charity would like a stall the cost is £5 or any trade stall the cost is £10 for the day, Entertainment throughout the day and various side shows will be provided. Contact Andy on 01700505718 or Dave on 01700502477 or contact us via our website. We still have a number of stalls vacant if anyone is interested. If there are any groups or bands who would like to provide some entertainment please also get in touch.
We now have our own website at www.butebritishlegion.co.uk
