Bute Amateur Players
Bute Amateur Players are the island's drama group.
They began in early 2004, and performed 2 plays at that years ButeLive festival in July; "Tempatation Sordid or Virtue Rewarded" by Winifred Phelps and "None the Wiser" by Anthony Booth.
The following year was even busier. They took part in the islands 60th Anniversary V-Day Commemoration, with some of the members writing the script for a special play that they performed over the weekend, in a Pavilion that was transformed back to the 1940's. A month later, they again performed 2 plays at the ButeLive festival.
Never afraid of hard work, the group slowly grew and in 2010 they again tackled 3 shows throughout the year.
The first, on Saturday 3rd April, was "The Odd Couple" by Neil Simon.
On Saturday 22nd May, they again putt on "The Steamie". Having performed it last year to a packed house, they have decided, after constant requests, to perform it again!
Finally, on 17th July, they performed "Widow's Paradise" by Sam Cree.
